“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 16-20
The Great Commission
A few sentences spoken by a man who lived generations ago have shaped the course of human history. When Christ spoke the Great Commission He gave those who proclaim to be followers of Jesus their ultimate purpose: to spread the Gospel. The igniting message of God’s love, grace, hope, and redemption can be found throughout history. In the face of poverty, in the face of disease, in the face of fear, and in the face of death—the Gospel spreads. In the midst of peace and in the midst of turmoil, the Good News advances. It is found in the busyness of a day in middle-class America and it is found under the rays of the beating sun in Africa. It is found among the wealthy, among the oppressed, among the hopeful. The Good News is not bound by time, location, or social class. Jesus came to this earth and lived a perfect life to be sacrificed on behalf of the the world. Jesus shed His blood for all humanity; He died as a substitute for sinners, and because of this the Gospel is for everyone and the Great Commission is an ongoing call.
Our Mission
As a company, Ignite is dedicated to being a part of the legacy of Christ. We are committed to following the teachings of Jesus and want to contribute to the global movement of making disciples who make disciples in the name of Jesus Christ. Our heart lies in creating sustainable businesses in third-world countries who conduct business in the name of Jesus. We are partnering with not a fan—a global brand whose mission is to generate completely committed followers of Christ and not lukewarm fans of Jesus—to bring to life Follower Stories. These Follower Stories will be documenting the stories of Christ followers in Haiti. Ignite would like our visitors to meet the first follower in a series of Follower Stories and engage in his story.
Roosevelt’s Story
In obedience to the Great Commission, we welcome you into Roossevelt’s world. He is a twenty-year-old Christ follower living in Kabic, Haiti. Roossevelt is the grandson and son of Voodoo Priests, yet the love of God sought him out and transformed his life. He is a committed disciple of Jesus and seeks to spread the gospel to his neighbors. He is extremely active in a local church-plant in Haiti called Hope Church which seeks to shine God’s light over a country riddled with the darkness of voodoo. Roossevelt is a gifted artist and uses his painting talents to share the Gospel. We invite you to support the ministry-centered work Roossevelt is doing in Haiti by exploring his artistic expressions. Ignite is bringing to light Roossevelt’s story and giving people the opportunity to be a follower of Jesus.
